In March 2021, the Suez Canal was blocked for six days after the grounding of Ever Given, a huge container ship operated by a Taiwanese transport company. The ship became ＿＿（46）＿＿ on March 23rd, after running aground and becoming wedged sideways across the waterway. At first a ＿＿（47）＿＿ of wind was thought to be to blame. The wind speed at the time was recorded at 40 knots, but the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) told reporters that this was not the only reason for the ship becoming ＿＿（48）＿＿ . As one of the world's busiest trade routes, the canal obstruction had a significant negative impact on trade between Europe and Asia and the Middle East. For example, on March 28th, at least 369 ships were ＿＿（50）＿＿ to pass through the canal. The Suez Canal blockage did not just affect the global shipping industry. Countless businesses, from domestic transport providers to retailers, supermarkets and manufacturers, were also impacted.
