結合螺旋式電腦斷層（helical CT）與直線加速器（linear accelerator）系統整合之治療技術，如下圖所示，稱之為：

圖示完整呈現Tomotherapy系統特徵：頂部In-Line Linac（直線加速器）內嵌於環形機架、左側CT Xray Source與右側CT Image Detectors（構成螺旋CT）、Temporally Modulated MLC（時序調制多葉準直儀）、Megavoltage Image Detectors、Beam Stop，以及下方Image Reconstruction/Treatment Planning/Treatment Verification Computer與Accelerator Control電腦雙向整合，完全對應Tomotherapy（螺旋斷層放療）的設計架構。
