Cyclooxygenase I (COX-1) 將花生四烯酸 (Arachidonic acid) 轉為 PGG2、PGH2，再經 thromboxane synthase 合成 TXA2，促進血小板聚集。Aspirin 即是不可逆抑制 COX-1。
